💨 Abstract
The U.S. Embassy in Zambia ordered all U.S. government personnel to leave the northern region affected by a toxic spill from a Chinese-owned mine that occurred six months ago. The spill, which involved hazardous substances like arsenic, cyanide, and uranium, has polluted a major river system and potentially become airborne. Around 700,000 people live in the affected area, Kitwe, a major mining hub.
