On August 16, 2025, a fire at Russia’s Elastik plant in the Ryazan region resulted in 11 fatalities and 130 injuries. The blaze, originating from a gunpowder workshop, caused a significant blast. Emergency crews rescued three people from the rubble, with recovery efforts continuing into the weekend. Twenty-nine injured remained hospitalized, including some transported to Moscow. Regional authorities declared a day of mourning on Monday.
