💨 Abstract
Mexican authorities suspect organized crime was behind the killing of Ernesto Vásquez Reyna, the top federal official in Tamaulipas. The attack, which occurred in broad daylight in Reynosa, is believed to be retaliation for recent seizures of stolen fuel, a significant blow to local criminal factions. The deceased official's body and a burned SUV were found on a major avenue, with two additional vehicles involved in the attack.
