💨 Abstract
A team of mountaineers began a foot expedition on August 14, 2025, to recover the body of a Chinese climber, Guan Jing, from K2, the world's second-highest peak. Jing died after being struck by falling rocks on Tuesday. A Nepali Sherpa, Jangbu, was initially sent to recover her body but was injured and stranded. The weather conditions have prevented helicopter rescue operations.
