💨 Abstract
South Korea has started removing propaganda loudspeakers along its border with North Korea to ease tensions. The liberal South Korean government, which took office in June 2025, previously halted the broadcasts in June as a conciliatory move. The speakers had been used to blast anti-North Korean messages and K-pop songs, which Pyongyang finds irritating.
