Wildfires raged across Spain, Portugal, and Greece on Friday, a public holiday, amid extreme heat and dry conditions. Spain faced 14 major fires, with temperatures nearing 40°C, affecting transportation and forcing evacuations. Portugal deployed nearly 4,000 firefighters against seven major fires, while Greek crews battled a wildfire on Chios Island for the fourth day.
