💨 Abstract
Tropical Storm Gil is strengthening and expected to become a hurricane in the eastern Pacific. Located about 870 miles southwest of Mexico's Baja California peninsula, Gil has sustained winds of 65 mph and is moving westward, posing no immediate threat to land. Additionally, Tropical Storm Iona, previously a hurricane, has weakened and is also not threatening land. Further storm development is possible in the region.
