💨 Abstract

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with Syria's interim President Ahmad al-Sharaa in Damascus to discuss regional developments and cooperation. Ankara supports Syria's new government against sectarian violence and Israeli intervention. Tensions arose after clashes between Bedouin tribes and Druze factions, with Israel striking government targets. Turkey aims to curb Kurdish influence and backs Syria's request for defense support. Ankara accused the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces of failing to merge with Damascus forces.
