💨 Abstract
Chinese authorities are taking action to control a chikungunya outbreak, with over 7,000 cases reported, primarily in Foshan. Chikungunya, transmitted by mosquitoes, causes fever, joint pain, and sometimes severe complications. Though it usually resolves in a few weeks, severe cases can persist. There is no specific treatment, but symptoms can be managed. Vaccines exist but are not widely available.
