💨 Abstract
Starting December 30, 2025, Singapore will impose mandatory caning of up to 24 strokes for scammers to combat rising fraud cases. The changes, passed by Parliament, also include caning for those who assist in scams. Scams constitute 60% of reported crimes in Singapore from 2020 to mid-2025, with significant financial losses.
