💨 Abstract

In December 2025, South Korea's former acting leader Choi Sang-mok was indicted for dereliction of duty related to the 2024 martial law imposition by ex-President Yoon Suk Yeol. Choi, along with another acting leader Han Duck-soo, is accused of not fully restoring the Constitutional Court, which could have hastened Yoon's removal. Dozens of high-level officials and military commanders from Yoon's administration are also facing legal troubles.
