💨 Abstract
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will access personal data of 79 million Medicaid enrollees, including addresses and ethnicity, to locate undocumented immigrants. This agreement between the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Department of Homeland Security has not been publicly announced. Critics question the legality and ethics of using health data for deportation purposes, while officials claim it aims to identify improper Medicaid enrollments.
