💨 Abstract

In Venezuela, relatives of detained protesters held a vigil demanding their release. Amidst a spike in forced disappearances and political repression, one mother reported her son was severely malnourished in jail. Amnistía Internacional documented 15 cases of forced disappearance, with 11 individuals still detained. The vigils and protests have been an attempt to gain information on loved ones following July 2024's contested elections.
