💨 Abstract
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit allowed the National Guard to remain in Washington, D.C., pending resolution of a lawsuit challenging their deployment. A three-judge panel unanimously granted the Trump administration a stay on a lower court's order that had blocked the deployment. Over 2,200 National Guard members can stay until the Supreme Court rules or another event occurs. The lower court had ordered the troops to leave, arguing that federal intervention infringed on local authority.
