💨 Abstract
Colombian lawyer, senator, and presidential candidate Miguel Uribe Turbay was fatally shot on June 7 while giving a speech in Bogota. After two months in the hospital, his wife María Claudia Tarazona announced his death on August 11. Uribe, born into a family of prominent politicians and journalists, started his political career independently and later aligned with the Centro Democrático party. In 2022, he was the top-voted senator in Colombia.
