💨 Abstract
A British man in Bali, Indonesia, avoided a potential death sentence for alleged drug smuggling. Thomas Parker, 32, was arrested after inadvertently handling a package containing 1.055 kg of MDMA. He claimed it was sent by a friend without his knowledge, proposing it was intended for someone else. Though initially charged with drug trafficking, the court reduced the charge to hiding information, sentencing him to 10 months in prison. Parker expressed regret.
