💨 Abstract
Period stigma is prevalent in UK schools, with many girls facing embarrassment and bullying due to menstruation. A study by Plan International UK found that 9% of girls have been bullied by teachers about their periods, and 28% by peers. Many girls feel ashamed discussing periods with teachers or boys. Inadequate education contributes to the issue, with 25% of girls receiving less than an hour of period education in school.
