💨 Abstract

Torrential rains in central Nigeria have caused severe flooding, killing over 100 people in Mokwa. The town was submerged after heavy rains and a nearby dam collapse, with rescue efforts ongoing. At least 111 bodies have been confirmed so far, and more are expected as flooding continues. Mokwa, a major trading hub, has been severely impacted by inadequate infrastructure and repeated seasonal floods exacerbated by climate change. Residents are struggling to salvage belongings and rescue others.
