More than 150 people fell ill during a high school graduation ceremony in Paterson, New Jersey, due to extreme heat. Nine were hospitalized, with many suffering from dehydration. The event was declared a 'mass casualty incident', leading to the ceremony's shutdown. Mayor André Sayegh declared a state of emergency, canceling all recreational activities and opening libraries as cooling centers.
