💨 Abstract
London is experiencing a surge in phone thefts, with over 81,000 reported in 2024, notably in the West End. A third of thefts in London occur in this cultural hub. Thefts are often carried out by individuals on electric bikes or pickpockets, especially around popular nightlife spots. The Metropolitan Police have increased patrols and arrests targeting criminal gangs, with tech companies also working on security measures to combat theft.
