Mark Allen has withdrawn from the Shanghai Masters due to family reasons. Ali Carter will replace him in the tournament, which starts later this month. Allen expressed regret over missing the event and plans to participate next season. Carter is scheduled to play in the opening round on July 29. The Shanghai Masters features the world’s top 16 players, along with Chinese qualifiers and wildcards. Judd Trump defends his title after beating Shaun Murphy last year.
