💨 Abstract
Iceland’s Sundhnúkur volcano erupted on the Reykjanes Peninsula, leading to evacuations in the town of Grindavik and the Blue Lagoon resort. This is the ninth eruption since December 2023, but officials report it is relatively small. The lava flow is not threatening any infrastructure. Seismic activity was detected early in the morning, but flights at Keflavik airport remain unaffected.
