After his mother's sudden death in 1974, Bono, then 14, and his family struggled with domestic life. The U2 frontman revealed that they primarily survived on instant mashed potatoes and pre-made airline food that his father brought home from Dublin airport. They also consumed cheap, sugary drinks and canned goods.
