💨 Abstract
James Cartwright, accused of raping and murdering his ex-fiancée, Samantha Mickleburgh, is described as controlling and coercive. Samantha was found deceased at a hotel in Surrey on April 14, 2023. Cartwright called emergency services, claiming he found her lifeless. Witnesses describe his behavior as insincere and self-focused during the emergency response. Cartwright is accused of strangling Samantha after she told him it was their last meeting.
