💨 Abstract
A study at Bispebjerg hospital in Copenhagen found that nearly half of toilet users (43.7%) did not wash their hands. This figure increased significantly on some weeks. Researchers from the University of Surrey warned that poor hand hygiene could compromise patient safety. Key times for non-compliance were the start and end of the day, as well as mealtimes. Experts suggested more effective behavioral strategies and clear messaging to improve handwashing habits.
