💨 Abstract
The author attends an adult summer camp in the Kent countryside, hoping to relive childhood fantasies inspired by films. Initially excited, they struggle with social awkwardness and introversion, finding it hard to connect with others. Despite enjoying some activities, like crafts and cocktail-making, they feel out of place during group events and struggle with social anxiety. The experience leaves them feeling deflated and makes them reflect on the differences between their current self and their childhood counterpart.
