💨 Abstract

Millions of Brits may have purloined drinking glasses from pubs, with around 37 million glasses collectively stolen as estimated. This practice, while rarely leading to legal trouble, poses a significant financial burden on pubs, with some reporting annual replacement costs exceeding £2,000. Identical to ballooning pint prices, these losses contribute to the everyday financial struggles of publicans, influencing drinking prices and possibly leading to closures.
