💨 Abstract
An 81-year-old man, Humphrey Pickering, accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake in his Audi, causing him to lose control and fatally collision with a retired couple, Stephen and Katherine Burch, both 65, in Beaumaris, North Wales. The incident resulted in all three deaths. Witnesses and CCTV footage indicated the car abruptly accelerated. The forensic collision investigator concluded that Pickering mistakenly applied the accelerator instead of the brakes.
