đ¨ Abstract
The UK government plans to deport foreign criminals immediately after conviction, rather than after serving part of their sentence. Currently, they can be deported after serving 50% of their sentence, but this will change to 30% soon, and then to immediate deportation. The move aims to free up prison space and save money.
