💨 Abstract
Donald Trump is reportedly planning to offer Vladimir Putin access to Ukrainian and American rare earth minerals, along with other resources, in exchange for a ceasefire in Ukraine. The deal includes opening Alaska’s natural resources to Russia and lifting some US sanctions on Russia's aviation sector. Ukraine holds significant lithium reserves, much of which are in territories currently occupied by Russia. Trump earlier pressured Ukraine into granting the US access to its mineral wealth.
