đ¨ Abstract
In central Manchester, a sudden collapse of an 11-storey building on Bridge Street caused 'earthquake-like' tremors, leading to the evacuation of hundreds from nearby buildings. The vacant structure, part of the 52-year-old Alberton House, was reportedly being demolished. No injuries were reported. The building's collapse was unexpected and uncontrolled. The site was previously damaged by an IRA bomb in 1996.
