In a significant Welsh Parliament by-election, Plaid Cymru secured victory in the Caerphilly constituency, defeating Reform UK and the defending Labour party. Plaid's Lindsay Whittle won with 15,961 votes, a 27% swing from Labour, which trailed with 3,713 votes. Reform UK, led by Nigel Farage, came second with 12,113 votes.
