Hurricane Melissa, a Category 4 storm, is expected to intensify to Category 5 before hitting the northern Caribbean, including Haiti, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic. The storm, with winds of 145 mph, is moving west at 5 mph and could bring up to 101 cm of rain, causing catastrophic flooding and extensive damage. Jamaica's airports have closed, and evacuations are underway.
