đź’¨ Abstract
Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm, is battering Jamaica with extreme winds and heavy rain, threatening to displace crocodiles into residential areas. Health officials warn residents, especially in southeast parishes, to avoid floodwaters and keep away from crocodiles, which may seek higher ground. The American crocodile, a protected species, can grow up to 25 feet and swim at high speeds.
