💨 Abstract
Bella Culley, a 19-year-old pregnant British student nurse, will likely serve two years in prison despite her family paying a £140,000 fine in a plea bargain. Arrested in Georgia for smuggling drugs, she claims she was tortured into the act by a Thai gang. Her family hoped the fine would reduce her sentence, but prosecutors insisted on imprisonment. Bella pleaded guilty and will keep her baby with her in prison.
