💨 Abstract
In 2024, over 59,000 knives, including 47,795 zombie knives and machetes, were seized in England and Wales. Despite a ban, these weapons remain available on black markets. Knife crime has slightly decreased by 5%, but 196 people were murdered with knives in the past year. Experts cite fear, peer pressure, and exposure to violence online as reasons young people carry knives.
