💨 Abstract
Virgin, led by Sir Richard Branson, has secured permission to use the Temple Mills depot for its cross-Channel rail services, aiming to launch routes from 2030. This move challenges Eurostar's 30-year monopoly, with Virgin planning to offer services from London to Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, and potentially other European cities. Virgin has ordered 12 high-speed trains and is considering additional stops in the UK, including Birmingham, Manchester, and Kent.
