💨 Abstract
Amani, a 37-year-old from Bristol, has survived sepsis six times, each triggered by a urinary tract infection (UTI). Her chronic illness, stemming from a 2011 water sports accident, left her with a neurogenic bladder, requiring frequent catheterization and increasing her UTI risk. In 2020, she delayed seeking help despite severe symptoms, nearly dying from sepsis. Repeat infections have been equally dangerous, with symptoms varying each time.
