💨 Abstract
In 1963, John Profumo, a British cabinet minister, admitted to a "sordid" affair with Christine Keeler, a 19-year-old model, in newly released files. Profumo described Keeler as "ill-educated" and "simple," and admitted to sexual relations with her a few times at a mutual acquaintance's apartment. The scandal involved national security concerns as Keeler was also in a relationship with a Soviet spy.
