💨 Abstract
Madjid Belabes, 53, was sentenced to nearly 11 years in prison for orchestrating the smuggling of migrants out of Britain using taxi drivers. He arranged for five drivers to transport migrants from London to Kent, where they were then hidden in lorries and taken to France. Belabes made at least £287,000 from the operation, charging £1,200 per person.
