💨 Abstract
A 26-year-old Romanian woman had a four-inch parasitic worm (Dirofilaria repens) removed from her eyelid after it burrowed into her forehead for a month. The worm, typically found in dogs and transmitted by mosquitoes, grew under her skin before being surgically extracted. Though humans are poor hosts, the worm can cause lumps under the skin or around the eyes. The patient had no lasting symptoms.
