💨 Abstract
A rare, aggressive fungal infection called trichophyton indotineae is spreading in the UK, particularly affecting the groin and bottom areas. Originating from South Asia, this "turbocharged" fungus is resistant to typical antifungal treatments. Symptoms include itchy, red, inflamed patches that can crack or become sore. It spreads through direct contact, shared items, and warm, damp environments like gyms. Treatment often requires oral medication, and reinfection is possible.
