💨 Abstract
A man, Mirza Begg, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for assaulting, raping, and threatening an 18-year-old woman he met on a flatsharing app. Begg, 34, showed the victim weapons, including knives and a sword, before assaulting her at his Birmingham home. He lured her with the promise of accommodation. The victim had to be rescued by police after messaging a friend.
