💨 Abstract

NHS England is launching a world-first genetic register to improve cancer prevention and treatment. The register will include 120 genes known to increase cancer risk, allowing for earlier screening and personalized treatments for cancer patients and their family members. This initiative aims to detect cancer earlier, provide tailored treatments, and potentially prevent the disease. Leading doctors and charities have praised the program, which follows the success of the Lynch syndrome register.
