💨 Abstract
A study by Jefferies suggests that weight loss drugs like Ozempic could benefit the airline industry by reducing fuel costs. A 10% decline in average passenger weight could cut fuel bills by £432 million ($580 million) for major US airlines. This is due to a 1.5% reduction in fuel consumption, as lighter aircraft use less fuel.
