💨 Abstract
Discord, a popular gaming app, will now require all 200 million users to verify their age. Users must either take a video selfie or scan their government-issued ID, with AI estimating their age. Neither the selfie nor ID is stored. Until verification, sensitive content is blurred, and access to certain servers is restricted. Direct messages from strangers are routed to a separate inbox.
