💨 Abstract
Ukrainian counterintelligence is investigating cartel members infiltrating the country's International Legion to learn drone warfare tactics. Cartels in Mexico and Colombia are using drones for surveillance and attacks, and some members are joining the Ukrainian fight to gain this expertise. Despite vetting processes, some individuals with criminal backgrounds may be approved. The concern is that trained drone operators could return home and share their skills, escalating cartel conflicts. Drones offer cartels new ways to smuggle goods and conduct offensive operations.
