💨 Abstract
In August 2024, the author and her husband, Dave, lost their 10-year-old daughter, Larissa, to leukaemia. Larissa had been experiencing symptoms during a family holiday in the U.S., but initial medical assessments were inconclusive. Her condition rapidly deteriorated, leading to a seizure and subsequent coma. Despite urgent medical attention in New York, Larissa passed away after her family decided to turn off her life support.
