💨 Abstract

Women experiencing cardiac arrest outside of hospitals are 27% less likely to receive CPR from bystanders due to awkwardness and hesitation, particularly around touching a woman's chest or removing clothing for defibrillator use. This hesitation significantly reduces their survival chances, which are already low at 1 in 10. Immediate CPR and defibrillation within three to five minutes can double or quadruple survival rates.
