💨 Abstract
The author recounts her struggles with hormonal contraception, which caused severe depression and other side effects. Despite her concerns, doctors often dismissed her experiences and prescribed the pill as the only solution for her irregular, painful periods. After stopping the pill, she noticed significant improvements in her mental health. Research later confirmed her suspicions, showing a high risk of depression associated with oral contraceptives, especially for those who start them in their teens.
